Crea

The program was created in 2013, with the name CLAN -, Local Arts Centers for Children and Youth, as a response to the need to contribute to better conditions for the public education quality, through the adaptation of infrastructures for artistic practices, and the creation of an artistic training offer for children from public schools in the city, who entered into the single day policy.

Currently, under a new name, the Crea Program has managed to reduce the training needs of citizens thanks to training strategies in the field of the arts through three strategic lines: Art at School, Collective Impulse and Converge Crea promotes the free exercise of the citizens’ cultural rights and strengthen the development of public policies in the field dimensions.

Nidos - Nests

Pregnant women, parents, teachers and educational agents participate in this process, that is, the adults who are part of their daily lives.

Nidos reaches the spaces inhabited by the children of the city through artistic encounters, works, concerts and artistic experiences of circulation, artistic laboratories, creation of artistic content, strengthening of cultural and educational agents, knowledge management and incentives to creation and circulation.

Culturas en Común - Cultures in Common

The program, created in 1999, as an option to decentralize the cultural offer and the recovery of community spaces for the circulation of art in Bogotá. Among its achievements are the improvement of the conditions for the artistic practices development, the strengthening of the sector’s employability and the articulation of programming in 14 city’s boroughs through conventional and non-conventional scenarios allowing inhabitants, communities and diverse population groups to have free access to several live shows.

The development of strategies and activities of Culturas en Común will be aligned with five components: Community and territorial management, intra-institutional articulation for the offer mainstreaming, content creation and circulation, information systems and knowledge management, and an integrated network of facilities and cultural nodes.

Libro al Viento - Book to the wind

Libro al Viento books inside a colorful basket over a navy blue clothLibro al Viento is a reading promotion program seeking to transform the usual channels and places of circulation of books and literature. It is about going out to meet potential readers in unconventional spaces. In addition, the copies are a public good, therefore, it is expected that, once read, they are left free so that other readers can enjoy them. The program has published universal, Latin American and Colombian, canonical and non-canonical literature titles for different age groups.

Libro al Viento is aimed especially – although not exclusively – at people who do not have the purchasing power to buy books or who do not have the facility to access them.

The program’s objectives are: increasing the readership rates of Bogotá citizens, to open the circle of distribution of literary works and, with this, making the access citizens have to them easier, in addition to promoting their resignification in social environments usually far from the cultural epicenters, strengthening the processes of citizen participation, as well as the full enjoyment and use of what is public.

Plataforma Bogotá - Bogotá Platform

The program generates dynamics of interactive laboratories, characterized by their horizontality and by the transdisciplinary and open experimentation of their participants and creating seminar dynamics, where a reflection on the media is deepened.

The interaction between research, reflection and practice make Platform Bogotá a propitious space for the development of prototypes, explorations, ideas and new horizons regarding art, science and technology. It is an important node for the consolidation of exchange and knowledge networks, as well as a significant contribution to the cultural and academic sphere of Bogotá and Latin America.

CKWEB

It has a recording booth located in the Plataforma Bogotá house open for the production of sound pieces. It combines real-time transmission with training workshops and laboratories around media art, science and technology, some in association with the Cinematheque of Bogotá.

The booth is defined as an open place for the production of sound pieces. Most of the content is – live – (in real time via streaming).

Arte a la KY - Art to the KY

Arte a la KY is an initiative beginning in 2020 as a response to serve the city’s artistic sector in the midst of contingency and strengthen actions aimed at artists in public space, within the framework of the new social and environmental contract for Bogotá.

Arte a la KY is a complementary program so that artists can carry out their activity in public spaces, supervised and protected by district entities in order to promote joint actions and shared minimum rules allowing them to provide unique experiences to pedestrians, at the same time promoting cultural changes and behaviors making the physical and social transformation of the territory easier.

The artists, through their activity in the public space, allows revitalizing, recovering, generating spaces for citizen reflection and participation, strengthening the sense of belonging and appropriation of art in the places where they carry out their activity, for the enjoyment of all citizens. The artistic activities that take place in public space allow the exercise of an active, co-responsible citizenship and participant in the city construction.

Comisión Fílmica de Bogotá - Bogotá Film Commission

A professional camera from the back with a blurred backgroundThe Comisión Fílmica de Bogotá is a program of the Bogotá Mayor’s Office developed through the Idartes Audiovisual Arts Department. It is the manager of the economic use of public space in charge of facilitating, regulating and verifying audiovisual filming in the city of Bogotá.

The Comisión Fílmica de Bogotá works to promote the city as a film destination, to make it the epicenter of audiovisual production in Latin America and to position its icons in foreign audiovisual productions.

Currently, the city has the largest number of professionals in the audiovisual sector in all fields and stages of production in Colombia (more than 8,000 people). There is a high degree of professionalization in the industry and an infrastructure supporting the full capacity of talent. It has large rental houses, recording studios, production companies offering their services to Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Sony Television, among others, and post-production companies with high quality standards having worked on numerous films.
