The District Institute of Arts – Idartes, successfully participated in the Imagine the Arts congress organized by the International Society for the Performing Arts – ISPA, one of the most important performing arts organizations in the world, which took place from January 11 to January 15.
The intention of this congress, held for the first time virtually, was to generate a conversation with the member entities and countries around the opportunities and challenges the cultural and arts sector has after a year of crisis, isolation and inequity. Its objective was also aimed at highlighting the resilience and the need for institutions and organizations around the world to ensure that recovery takes place through sustainable processes in their leadership, social practices and with the environment.
For this, the event featured a series of conferences and meetings with prominent international guests to effectively discuss several issues related to innovation, social justice, environmental sustainability and business in the arts, among others. During these conversations, Catalina Valencia, director of Idartes, positioned issues such as the Primer Foro Internacional Respira el Arte - Breathe the Arts International Forum I, as well as the several lines and the most strategic programs of the entity.
Thanks to this management, more than 10 meetings were held with organizations from countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, United States, Spain, Germany, Poland and India, among others, to formalize possible alliances, resources and cooperation agendas.
This meeting showed that the culture and art of the Colombian capital have great potential and scope on the international scene, since the balance of the meetings and the active participation of Idartes in the discussions showed that in matters of culture, Bogotá is at the forefront and goes hand in hand with the changes taking place worldwide.
