Throughout this major music industry international meeting, this entity, recently celebrating 10 years since its creation as an artistic practice agent in the city, will be there with several activities, where local talent will be the center of attention.

Idartes invited 50 local artists to participate in this meeting as part of its actions within BIME PRO and, in addition, will introduce five showcases of the BIME City programming: Oh'laville, La Muchacha, ha$lopablito, Indus and La Tenaz, Bogota scene talents with international projection, who will perform on Wednesday May 4 afternoon and Thursday May 5 in the Usaquén borough, where this event will be held.

“From the Idartes Music Area we have initiatives looking for making local artists visible among national and international audiences. Meetings such as Bime Pro allow us to showcase Bogota’s talent, in addition to offering the opportunity for the sector’s players to meet with exclusive music industry agents”, explains Mauricio Galeano, Idartes' deputy director of Cultural Facilities .

For its part, Idartes' Artistic Training Deputy Director’s Office appears with BIME PEQUES, a multidisciplinary and participatory ensemble using sound as a form of expression for children and diverse communities. This is a circuit to be enjoyed as a family, including artistic experiences for early childhood, such as an adventure full of music and dance called Almazul, and el Centro de Creación Musical para la Operación Emocional CCM – OE, a play to explore emotions during the first years of life, from the Nidos Program; traditional rhythms concerts and Ska music by Tabarú and Kardamomo, groups from the Crea Program; as well as the theatrical intervention in the kamishibai technique with the play Viajes de papel (paper travels), from the Common Cultures Program.

“So, different ways by which Idartes guarantees the citizens' cultural rights and its continuous work of fostering arts in the youngest for life construction are brought to an international stage”, says Leyla Castillo Ballen, Idartes’ deputy Artistic Formation Director.

Idartes' participation in BIME PRO makes up part of actions reaffirming the appointment Unesco made a 10 years ago to Bogota as Musical Creative City, seeking, on this occasion, to build relationships supporting the Institute’s actions aimed at the 2022 local scene revitalization.
