Idartes arrives at the Cañada Real 16 Kilometers Festival

The program of the Spanish festival will include three national productions and a concert by Canturriantes.

The Cañada Real 16 Kilometers festival begun and the Colombian productions arrived with force thanks to the support of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes – Idartes. The themes of sustainability, gender equality and the creation of inclusive societies in a post-Covid scenario will be at the core of this festival.

The Spanish festival kicked off on November 19 and will run until next Sunday, November 29 in a combination of formats including in person and virtual events, and will take place in different cities such as Cañada Real, Madrid, Bogotá, Puebla and Tetuan. The inauguration was attended by Mauricio Galeano, deputy director of Cultural Facilities.

Idartes managed to bring different content from Colombia through an alliance with the Cañada Real 16 kilometers Festival, including three short films from the program Rolling Cinematheque to be screened at the Loop Short Films of the festival on Sunday 22 at 5:00 pm Spanish time, 11:00 am Colombian time. Those included in this section are La Plena, which was made with Edson Velandia during the Independence Day, Samuel y Rock al Parque, realidad de inclusión y tolerancia (Samuel and Rock in the Park, a reality of inclusion and tolerance). There will be a subsequent Debate about these short films on Sunday the 22nd at 6:30 pm Spanish time – 12:30 p.m. Colombian time with Diego Saldarriaga, coordinator of the Rolling Cinematheque.

On the other hand, on Thursday, November 26 at 9:00 p.m. Spanish time – 3:00 p.m. local time, there will be a Culture and Development Forum, where Mauricio Galeano will participate again. Later, on Tuesday the 24th of this month, it will be the Caraoque Piece at 9:00 pm Spanish time, 3:00 p.m. Colombian time.

Finally, on Sunday, November 29, the event’s conclusion day, the Canturriantes Concert will take place. This group is the winner of the Grant for circulation of scenic works and concerts for early childhood of the Nidos program of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes.

Samuel

Synopsis – Samuel, a recycler who goes out to work every day with the illusion of earning enough money to buy the medicines that Don Jeronimo, his father, needs; who lies dying in the house. The economic situation is becoming increasingly difficult. Until one day in one of his routines, Samuel meets a man who gives him all the support. Event that forever changes the history of Samuel and his family.

La Plena 

This is a music video for the song La Plena, performed by the Colombian singer-songwriter Edson Velandia and the Instituto Distrital de las Artes - Idartes, during the Independence Day. The video, through a series of images, seeks to generate a reflection on freedom and the meaning of independence today.

Rock in the Park, reality of inclusion and tolerance

This short film was made as part of the celebration of the 20 years of the Rock in the Park festival that takes place every year in the city of Bogotá. It was made by Maria Lucia Moncayo Agudelo and Mario Fernando Ortega Caceres.
